Childcare CPR and First Aid Licensing Requirements in Central Florida

✅ What Florida law requires

• Under the Florida Administrative Code rule Chapter 65C‑22 (Child Care Standards) / Florida Statute § 402.305, child-care personnel must have current First Aid training and Pediatric CPR & Infant/Child CPR certification. Online Sunshine+2Florida Department of Health+2

• The state’s resource handbook states: “By December 31, 2021, the facility shall maintain a specific number of child care personnel … with current CPR certification and first aid training that are on site at the facility at all times children are in care.” ACSI+1

• For family child-care homes & substitutes: must hold a valid certificate of Pediatric CPR and First Aid training before caring for children. MyFLFamilies

• Training must include pediatric scope (infant/child), not just adult CPR, when children are present. In-Pulse CPR+1

If you teach or care for our children you need to take an approved CPR and First Aid licensed course.

Child Care Providers in Florida are required to have an Adult, Child, and Infant Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid certification. The Florida Department of Children and Families requires a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification and First Aid for licensing.

Gold colored classes are just CPR, while red classes are First aid with CPR.  Most Childcare providers need both CPR and First Aid.
