Our classes are fun and complete, open to anyone, provide a two-year American Heart certification, and make use of only the most current training materials. CPR classes run 3.5 hours, 2 hours more if First Aid training is also included. We offer CPR AED and First Aid certification classes throughout the state.

Tennessee CPR & BLS Certification Requirements

Who Needs AHA Certification in Tennessee?
Tennessee regulations often mandate “hands-on” skills testing to ensure life-saving competency. Our courses are designed to satisfy the following state-specific requirements:

Healthcare Professionals (BLS): While the Tennessee Board of Nursing does not mandate CPR for initial licensure, nearly every healthcare employer in the state does. Our BLS for Healthcare Providers course follows the 2026 ECC guidelines, meeting the high standards of Vanderbilt Health, HCA Healthcare, and regional medical centers across the Volunteer State.

Childcare Providers (DHS Compliance): The Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS) requires all staff at licensed childcare agencies to be trained in CPR and First Aid within 90 days of employment. To meet licensing rules, at least one staff member with current Pediatric CPR and First Aid must be present at all times. Our “hands-on” training is fully recognized by the DHS for centers, group homes, and family childcare.

Dental Professionals: The Tennessee Board of Dentistry requires all dentists, hygienists, and registered assistants to maintain a current C.P.R. card at all times. Crucially, the Board defines acceptable CPR as a BLS Healthcare Provider course that includes an in-person skills examination on a manikin. Online-only certifications do not meet these criteria.

At In-Pulse CPR, we feel that you CAN learn a lot from a “dummy.” We offer a variety of open enrollment classes and times in and adding new locations in central Tennessee area throughout the coming months. These CPR certification sessions, first aid courses, bloodborne pathogen trainings, and more can provide the training you need. We also offer onsite private classes for your group statewide. Every class includes adult, child, and infant CPR training, including the treatment of airway obstruction, recognition of an impending emergency, and clear instruction in the use of an automated external defibrillator or AED.
We also offer First Aid training, covering topics such as soft tissue injuries, bone and muscle injuries, medical emergencies (including diabetic emergencies), anaphylactic shock (including the use of an epi-pen), and environmental emergencies.
All of our instructors with In-Pulse CPR come with years of experience in the medical field and offer real-life experiences to help trainees better understand the importance of CPR certification.
