Pennsylvania CPR & BLS Certification Requirements
Whether you are a registered nurse in Philadelphia, a teacher in Pittsburgh, or a corporate professional in Allentown, keeping your life-saving certifications current is a professional necessity. In-Pulse CPR provides American Heart Association (AHA) courses that satisfy the specific licensing mandates of Pennsylvania’s state boards and regulatory agencies.
Who Needs AHA Certification in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania has unique requirements for educator professional development and healthcare licensure. We ensure your certification is fully compliant with:
-
Educators & School Staff (Act 48): Under Act 48, Pennsylvania educators must complete 180 hours of professional development every five years. Many PA school districts require or accept AHA CPR and First Aid training as part of this requirement. Our in-person classes provide the “hands-on” training that PA schools prioritize for student safety.
-
Healthcare Professionals (BLS): The Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and the Board of Medicine require Healthcare Provider level BLS for licensure and workplace compliance. Our courses include the 2026 ECC updates, covering high-quality CPR, AED usage, and team-based multi-rescuer response.
-
Childcare & Daycare Providers: The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) require personnel to be certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid. To meet PA regulations, training must include a face-to-face skills assessment. Our courses satisfy the “hands-on” mandate for all licensed PA childcare facilities.
-
Dental Professionals: The Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry requires “live” or in-person CPR training for the renewal of dental and dental hygiene licenses. Our BLS for Healthcare Providers course meets these specific criteria.
-
Workplace Safety & Industry: From construction sites in the Lehigh Valley to corporate offices in Harrisburg, we provide OSHA-compliant training that meets 29 CFR 1910.151 standards, ensuring your team is ready for any emergency.
Why Choose In-Pulse CPR Pennsylvania?

Enroll in our classes with confidence! We are one of Pennsylvania’s largest providers of public CPR training.
Our regular customers include Hospitals, Public School Districts, US Coast Guard, EMS providers, and many others. We train upwards of 1500 students every month. Our classes are fun and complete, provide a two-year American Heart certification, and make use of only the most current training materials. We offer CPR AED and First Aid certification classes throughout Pennsylvania.
If you’re considering getting CPR certified online, you may want to consider taking an in-person course instead.
Online certification often requires you to test with an instructor at a later date, typically needs to be renewed annually, is frequently not accepted by employers or institutions, and cannot provide the type of individualized instruction we offer.
